CHAPTER 393.

AN ACT to repeal Sections forty-three, forty-four, forty-five,
and forty-six of Article thirty-nine, of the Code of Public
General Laws, entitled "Fish and Fisheries," and to re-enact
a part of the same with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections forty-three, forty-four, forty-five and forty-
six of article thirty-nine, of the Code of Public General Laws,
entitled "Fish and Fisheries," be, and the same are hereby
repealed and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

Repeal.

43. That it shall not be lawful for any person to catch or
kill any black bass, green bass, pike or pickerel, or wall-eyed
pike (commonly known as salmon) in the tributaries of the
Potomac river, between the fifteenth day of April and the
first day of June of each year; nor catch or kill any of said
species of fish at any other time during the year, save only
with a rod, hook and line, or dip-net.

44. Any person violating the provisions of this act shall be
guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall be punishable, on convic-
tion, by imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding six
months, or by a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars, or by
fine and imprisonment.

Penalty for
violation.

45. That the provisions of the law shall not be applicable
below the Little Falls, near Washington, and shall not apply
to that part of the waters of the Monocacy river, and its trib-
ntaries lying in Creagerstown and Woodsboro districts, Fred-
erick county, and Middlebury district in Carroll county,
from the bridge over the Monocacy river on the turnpike road
leading from Woodsboro to Creagerstown in Frederick county
to the head of the Monocacy river and its tributaries.

Where not to
apply.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 4, 1896.

Effective.

AN ACT to divide election district number seven of Garrett
County into two precincts.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
