LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Adoption of
plat.

SEC. 23. And be it enacted, That the said plat of Edward
Groves' sub-division, recorded among the land records of said
Prince George's county, in Liber J. W. B. No. 10, folio 309,
be and the same is hereby adopted and made the plan of
"Berwyn Heights; " that the streets, avenues and roads hereto-
fore laid out in "Berwyn Heights," as shown on said plat, be
and the same are hereby dedicated to public use; and the
several lots and blocks in "Berwyn Heights," as shown on said
plat, shall be designated and known by the same numbers,
respectively, as they are designated and described on said plat.

Effective.

SEC. 24. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 2d, 1896.

CHAPTER 268.

AN ACT to amend the charter of the Union Turnpike Com-
pany, incorporated as the Union Plank or Turnpike Road
Company by an act passed at the December session, 1849,
chapter 358, the name of the company having been changed
to the Union Turnpike Company by section 1 of an act
passed the 28th day of March, 1872.

Bates of toll.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Union Turnpike Company be, and it is hereby
authorized and empowered to demand and receive toll not ex-
ceeding one cent per mile for every bicycle, tricycle or similar
vehicle, and not exceeding five cents per mile for every steam
traction engine or other vehicle propelled by steam, electricity,
or any motive-power other than that of animals; provided,
that nothing herein contained shall be construed as altering,
amending or in any wise affecting other rates of toll heretofore
established by law for animals, or for vehicles drawn by ani-
mals.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
