draft uniform laws to be submitted for the approval and adop-
tion of the several States, and to devise and recommend such
other course of action as shall best accomplish the purpose of
this act.

Term cf
office.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That such commissioners shall
hold office for a term not exceeding four years. No member
of said board shall receive any compensation for his services as
commissioner, but each commissioner shall be entitled to receive
his actual disbursements for his expenses in performing the
duties of his office. In case any of the persons so appointed as
above will not undertake the office of this commission, or in
case of a vacancy on said board, such vacancy shall be filled by
the Governor.

Expenses.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That said board may employ such
persons and incur such expenses as may be necessary in the per-
formance of their duties; but the total annual expense of said
board shall not exceed the sum of $500.

Appropria-
tion.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted. That the sum of $1,000, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, payable out of any moneys
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, is hereby appropri-
ated, subject to the credit of the Comptroller, to carry out the
provisions of this act, and the same shall be payable by the
Comptroller to the said commissioners.

Report to
legislature.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That said board shall report to
the Legislature at its next session, and from time to time there-
after as said board may deem proper, an account of its transac-
tions and its advice and recommendations, as required by sec-
tion 1 of this act.

Effective.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 265.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of an additional
Justice of the Peace for Election District Number Thirteen
in Montgomery county.

Additional
justice.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor be and he is hereby authorized and
empowered to appoint an additional justice of the peace, in and
for the Election District Number Thirteen, in Montgomery
