CHAPTER 263.

AN ACT to enable Calvary English Evangelical Lutheran
Church of Baltimore city, a religious corporation duly incor-
porated under the laws of the State of Maryland, to sell and
convey a certain lot or lots therein with the improvements
thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of Trustees of Calvary English Evan-
gelical Lutheran Church of Baltimore city, General Synod
Lutheran Church in the United States of America, duly incor-
porated under the General Incorporation Laws of the State of
Maryland, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to sell and convey in fee or otherwise, that lot of ground and
improvements now used by said body corporate for religious
purposes, and known as the northeast corner of North avenue
and Payson street, more fully described in a deed from George
Beiswanger to the said body corporate, dated February 15,
1896, and recorded in Liber R. O. 1606, folio 523, one of the
land records of Baltimore city.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 264.

AN ACT to provide for the appointment of Commissioners

for the promotion of uniformity of legislation in the United
States.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted/ by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That within thirty days after the passage of this act the
Governor shall appoint three commissioners, who are hereby
constituted a board of commissioners by the name and style of
" Commissioners f or the Promotion of Uniformity of Legisla-
tion in the United States." It shall be the duty of said board
to examine the subjects of marriage and divorce, insolvency, the
form of notarial certificates and other subjects; to ascertain the
best means to effect an assimilation and uniformity in the laws
of the States, and especially to meet with representatives ap-
pointed by the other States of the Union in a convention, to
