SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 244.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with corrections and amend-
ments, Sections 1 and 2 of Chapter 489 of the laws passed by
the General Assembly of Maryland, session of 1890, the
same being "An Act to incorporate the Washington and
Marlboro' Electric Railway Company, of Prince George's
county, and to declare its rights, powers, privileges and fran-
chises."

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That sections 1 and 2 of chapter 489 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at the session of 1890,
entitled "An Act to incorporate the Washington and Marlboro'
Electric Railway Company, of Prince George's county, and to
declare its rights, powers, privileges and franchises," be, and the
same hereby are repealed and re enacted, so as to read as fol-
lows:

Repeal.

1. Be it enacted, That Charles E. Coffin, William A. Meloy,
James T. Perkins, John W, Belt, Robert V. Hall, Henry
W. Clagett and Frank Hill, residents and citizens of Prince
George's county, Maryland, and John W. Thompson, of the city
of Washington, in the District of Columbia, and their associates
and successors, be, and they hereby are created, constituted and
declared to be a body corporate and politic under the name and
style of the " Washington and Marlboro' Electric Railway Com-
pany," and under such name and style made capable in law to
sue and be sued, defend and be defended, plead and be im-
pleaded at law or in equity, to have and use a common or cor-
porate seal, and to alter and renew the same at pleasure, and
otherwise in all things to do, execute and perform whatever
any corporation and body politic or individual may, can or
might lawfully do, execute and perform, within the scope and
for the objects and purposes of said corporation, as follows,
namely, to construct and lay down and to operate a railway,
