cemetery.

4. The said corporation is hereby authorized and empowered
to hold, use, occupy, possess and enjoy any part or portion of
the real estate which has been granted and conveyed to it at
any time in the past, and which it now owns, and also any real
estate which it may acquire at any time in the future, as, and
for a cemetery and burial ground; and the burial lots in said
cemetery and burial ground, shall not be liable for the debts of
the lot holders, or affected by the insolvent laws of this State ;
nor shall said cemetery and burial ground, nor the said burial
lots of the individual lot owners be subject to taxation of any
kind whatever; provided, the said cemetery and burial ground
be used exclusively for the purposes of burial; nor shall any
lanes, alleys, streets, roads, canals or public thoroughfares of
any sort be opened through the said cemetery and burial
ground, so long as the same «hall be used and appropriated for
the purposes of burial.

Effiective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 170.

AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet the addi-
tional expenses of the Legislature of Maryland, for the
session of eighteen hundred and ninety-six.

Appropria-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of ten thousand dollars or so much thereof
as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated
to pay the members and officers of the General Assembly as
well as all miscellaneous expenses of said session of eighteen
hundred and ninety-six.

How dis-
bursed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the State
shall, on the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said sum
of money herein appropriated for the objects and purposes
herein specified, to or upon the order of the person or persons
entitled to receive the same.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
