LAWS OF MARYLAND.

thirty thousand dollars, as the directors of said company shall
determine; the creation of such mortgage or mortgages, to
secure the payment of such bonds, shall be subject to the mort-
gage securing an issue of fifteen thousand dollars of the bonds
of said Mount Washington Electric Light and Power Com-
pany already issued by said company; and shall only be author-
ized and directed by a vote of the majority of the stockholders
in person, or by proxy, at any meeting of said company called
by the president of the company, on ten days' notice, by at
least two insertions in some newspaper published in Baltimore
county, or at any regular meeting duly called; any such mort-
gage shall convey, by way of mortgage, to the trustee or trus-
tees, to secure the payment of said bonds, principal or interest,
the whole of the property of said corporation, real, personal
and mixed, together with all rights, franchises, incomes and
profits accruing, and to accrue, subject, however, to the pay-
ment of the bonds and interest thereon, secured by the mort-
gage hereinbefore mentioned, as having been created by said
corporation.

Payment of
subscrip-
tions.

SEC. 5 And be it further enacted, That the president and
directors for the time being, or a majority of them, shall have
power to call for the payment of the subscription to the addi-
tional capital stock of said company authorized by this act,
from time to time, as they may deem necessary.

May sell light,
beat, etc.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That said Mount Wash-
ington Electric Light and Power Company shall also have
power to manufacture and sell, and to furnish such quantities
of electric light, electric heat and electric power, as may be
required or desired at any point in said Baltimore county, and
to contract for and furnish electric light for lights for lighting
streets, roads, public or private buildings in said county, or in
any town therein, and for motive power and other purposes;
and said corporation is hereby authorized and empowered, by
and with the consent of the County Commissioners of Balti-
more county, to lay, purchase, construct or build lines, conduc-
tors and conduits, under, along, upon or over the roadways
and streets, wheresoever located in said Baltimore county and
over, under and along any private property in said county, the
consent of the owner or owners thereof being first had and
obtained, and to connect the same with any manufacture, pub-
lic or private buildings, lamp or other structure, object, car or
conveyance.

Effective.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
