Hew election.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That an additional section be and the same is
hereby added to Article 1 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Rules of Interpretation," to follow section 12, and
to be known as section 13, and to read as follows :

Administer-
ing oaths.

13 Whenever an oath or affidavit is required under the laws
of this State, either general or local, the same may be adminis-
tered and the said oath shall be regarded as duly and legally
administered, if the witness or affiant shall be required by the
officer administering the oath to place his or her hand upon
the open pages of the bible or new testament, or, in case of a
Hebrew witness or affiant, upon the open pages of the Penta-
teuch, and the oath then administered in the usual or pre-
scribed form.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 114.

AN ACT to amend Article twenty-three of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Corporations," by
adding thereto an additional Section to follow Section
thirty-seven, Class twenty-four, and to be designated as
"Section thirty-seven A, Class twenty-five," of said Article,
providing for the formation of corporations for the protec-
tion and preservation of game and fish in the State of
Maryland.

New section

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article number twenty-three (23) of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Corporations," be and
the same is hereby amended by adding thereto the following
section, to follow section thirty-seven, class twenty-four, and
to be designated as "section thirty-seven A, class twenty-five,"
of said article.
