Additional
Judge.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That in pursuance of section 39 of Article 4 of the
Constitution, there shall be elected another judge of the
Supreme Bench of Baltimore City, by the legal and qualified
voters of said city, at the election to be held in said city on
the Tuesday after the first Monday of November, 1896; and
the judge to be voted for under this section shall be voted
for as "Additional judge of the Supreme Bench," and shall
be so designated on the official ballot; and when said judge
shall be so elected he shall be subject to all of the provisions
of the Constitution relating to the Supreme Bench of Balti-
more City and the several judges thereof, and shall be as-
signed to the performance of such judicial duties as the said
Supreme Bench shall, from time to time, indicate.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That in pursuance of
section 39 of Article 4 of the Constitution, there shall, in
addition to the judge mentioned in section 1 of this act, be
elected another judge of the Supreme Bench of Baltimore
City, by the legal and qualified voters of said city, at the
election to be held in said city on the Tuesday after the first
Monday of November, 1897; and the judge to be voted for
under this section shall be voted for as the "Second Addi-
tional Judge of the Supreme Bench," and shall be so desig-
nated on the official ballot; and when said judge shall be so
elected he shall be subject to all of the provisions of the Con-
stitution relating to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City
and the several judges thereof, and shall be assigned to the
performance of such judicial duties as the said Supreme
Bench shall, from time to time, indicate.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
