SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary- .
land, That the appointments, heretofore made by the Gover-
nor of Maryland, of registers of voters and assistant registers
of voters for the city of Hagerstown, to wit, on the fifth day
of March, eighteen hundred and ninety-six, be and the same
are hereby legalized and made valid as fully and completely
as though said appointments had been made in strict conform-
ity to the provisions of chapter 27 of the Acts of Assembly
of this present session of 1896, entitled an act to repeal sec-
tions 159s, 159E, 159H, 159I, 159J and 159M, of Article 22
of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Washington County,"
sub-title "Hagerstown," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts done, all proceed-
ings taken, and all entries made by the registers of voters of
the respective wards of the city of "Hagerstown" in, upon,
about, or in regard to the registry or registries of voters given
to them respectively in charge in attempted conformity, sub-
stantially with the provisions of said chapter 27 of the acts
of Assembly of this present session 1896, be and the same
are hereby legalized and made valid, as fully and completely
as if such acts done, entries made and proceedings by them
taken had, in all and every respect complied with and con-
formed to the provisions of said chapter 27 of the acts of
1896; and the said respective registries of voters, when com-
pleted, or as now prepared and made out by the said registers
of voters (appointed on the fifth day of March 1896), are
hereby declared to be the genuine and proper registers of
voters for said city of Hagerstown, and the same are hereby
legalized and made valid for the purposes contemplated and
intended by said chapter 27 of the acts of this present session
of the General Assembly of Maryland.

SEC. 3 And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 95.
AN ACT to carry into effect Section thirty-nine of Article
four of the Constitution, so far as the same concerns an
increase in the number of Judges of the Supreme Bench
of Baltimore City.
