they shall be and are hereby authorised to locate, lay out, o-
pen and make a turnpike or other artificial road, from the
bridge over the Susquehanna, at or near Rock Run, in Cecil
county, to the line of this state, in a direction towards Wil-
mington in the state of Delaware, over such route, of such
breadth, not exceeding sixty-six feet; and construct the same
of such materials of stone, wood, jron, gravel, or other hard
substance, and in such mariner, as the said president and
managers shall deem proper and best calculated to promote
the public, convenience.

An act for the opening- ancf extension of Lombard-street in the
City of Baltimore,

SECTION. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary -
land, That the mayor and city council-of Baltimore, be, and
they are hereby authorised to pass such ordinance or ordi-
nances for the purpose of laying out and extending Lombard-
street iti said city eastwardly, in such manner, direction and
extent, and upon such terms and conditions as they may deem,
most advisable.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said mayor and city
council of Baltimore, to effect said improvement, shall have
power,and authority to close up Frenchman's or Uhlers al-
ley, and to sell the same and apply the proceeds thereof, first
to the satisfaction of any person or persons injured thereby,
and the balance for the opening and extension of Lombard-
street aforesaid.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all former acts of assembly
relative to the opening and extension of Lombard-street
aforesaid, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 94.

 

An act to authorise the commissioners of Baltimore County, to
assess and levy on the assessable property of said County, a
sum of money to build a bridge over Black Rock Rum, near the
new Baptist meeting house, at a place called the Stone Bridge
in said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the commissioners of Baltimore county, be, and
they are hereby authorised and directed, if they think it expe-
dient and necessary, to assess and levy on the assessable pro-
perty of said county, a sum of money not exceeding three
hundred and fifty dollars, to build a bridge over the Black
Rock Run, at the place called and known by the name of the
