A resolution, with its preamble, allowing the President and Directors
of the Chester Bridge Company further time for widening the draw
of said bridge.
|

1828.

WHEREAS, it appears by the petition of the president and
directors of the Chester Bridge Company, that the time al-
lowed them for widening the draw of said bridge, by a reso-
lution of the General Assembly, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-five, number seventy-nine, may
not now be sufficient to enable them to effect said work in a
proper manner: Therefore,

Preamble.
|
Resolved, That the president and directors of the Chester
Bridge Company, be allowed six months in addition to the
time already allowed them for widening the draw of said
|
Time extended:

bridge, provided said company shall after the first day of A-
pril next, cause two lamps to be lighted up every evening be-
fore dark, one on each side of said draw, and shall keep the
same lighted up during the night.

A report of the committee on Internal Improvement, to whom was re-
ferred the communication of the Governor of Virginia, enclosing a
law passed by the Legislature of that state, providing for the erec-
tion of a toll bridge across the river Potomac, at or near Shepherds,
town.

The committee on internal improvement, to whom was, re-
ferred the communication of the Governor of Virginia, en-
posing a law, passed by the legislature of that state, provid-
ing for the erection of a toll bridge across the Potomac river,
at or near Shepherdstown; and the resolution of the afore-
said legislature, dated the sixth day of December, eighteen
hundred and twenty-seven, requesting the passage of a law on,
the part of the state of Maryland, beg leave most respectfully
to report, that they have attentively considered the subject,
and are of opinion, that the object contemplated by the afore-
said law of Virginia, is fully provided for by an act of the
General Assembly of Maryland, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and twenty-one, chapter two hundred and
twenty-five; and your committee therefore recommend the
adoption of the following resolution;
