Half pay of private

A resolution in favor of Henry Martin, of Frederick County.
Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore pay to
Henry Martin of Frederick county, or to his order, during
life, in half yearly payments, a sum of money equal to the half
pay of a private, as a further remuneration for his services
during the revolutionary war.

Preamble
|
A resolution with its preamble, in favor of Thomas Baldwin and
Samuel Scott, junior, of Prince George's county.
WHEREAS, it appears to this General Assembly, That some
time about the 12th of April last, and during the county court
term of Prince George's county, that Thomas Baldwin and
Samuel Scott of said county, were sworo up to the grand ju-
ry to give evidence against a certain Samuel Shockney, lor
keeping a Rolette Table, for the purpose of gaming, contrary
to the Jaws of this state: And whereas it appears from an ex-
tract made from the proceedings of said court, that the said
Shockney submitted and plead guilty, and was fined two hun-
dred dollars; and whereas it further appears from the certifi-
cate of Judge Key, one of the associate judges of said court,
that not having received the laws of the last session, nor hav-
ing heard of a law passed relative to gaming, they proceeded
to fine the said Shockney, as directed by law, passed eighteen
hundred and four, chapter seventy-five, in consequence of
which, the said Baldwin and Scott are deprived of the benefit
of the law, passed last session, giving one half to the informer
or informers: And whereas, it appears that said fine has been
paid by the said Samuel Shockney: Therefore,

Resolved, That the treasurer of the Western Shore of Ma-
ryland, pay to Thomas Baldwin and Samuel Scott, junior, or
to their joint order, the sum of one hundred dollars, out of a-
ny unappropriated money in the treasury.
