closed by said Eversfield, and the object of the prayer is to

SECTION I. Be It enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act, it shall and
may be lawful for Israel M. Jackson and John Eversfield of
Prince Georges county, each to appoint one person well quali-
fied to assess the damages in making picnic a road from the
end of a lane near a branch to the woodland of said Jackson,

and the said damages when so ascertained, shall be paid in
current money by the said Jackson, his executors, admi-
nistrators or assigns, to the said Eversfield, his executors, ad-

ministrators or assigns.
SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That if either of the said per-
sons above named, shall refuse or neglect to appoint a person
for the purpose of carrying into efect this act, it shall
and may be lawful for other persons to proceed immediately
to open said road: Provided, That the said Jackson before be
shall proceed to act, shall give ten days notice to the said
E versfield of his intention so to do.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if the two persons appointed
to open said road shall not agree, they shall and may appoint
a third person, whose duty it shall be, with the other two, to
proceed immediately to open said road.

An act for the relief of Rebecca Hartman of the city of Balti-
more.

SECTION 1, Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
Iand, That from and after the passage of this act, the marri-
age contract between Charles Ferdinand Hartman and Re-
becca Hartman is hereby declared to be annulled and destroy-
ed, and the authority, power and control of the said Charles
Ferdinand Hartman over and to the person and property oi
Rebecca Hartman, his wife, shall henceforth cease;and deter-
mine, and all the rights which the said Charles Ferdinand
Hartman acquired by the said marriage contract, and all lia-
bilities for the debts of his said wife arising from the said
marriage shall henceforth utterly cease and determine and
the said Rebecca Hartman is hereby declared to be divorced
from her husband Charles Ferdinand Hartman as eiprely,
and to as full extent, as if the said Charles Ferdinand Hart-
man were dead, or as if she the said Rebecca Hartman had
never been joined in matrimony with him,

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That the said Rebecca Hart-
man shall be, and she is hereby declared capable to have,
hold, take, receive, sue for and recover, by compromise, suit
or suits in law or equity, property of any kind, whether real,
personal or mixed, ia as full and ample a manner as if she
