CHAP. 31.

and that if the said draw shall not be removed within the said
period, then the owner or owners thereof shall forfeit and pay
the sum of five dollars for every five minutes during which
the said draw shall not be removed and free passage afforded
to any such boat, beyond the period allowed for removing
said draw, the same to be recovered before any justice of the
peace of Baltimore or Anne Arundel county, the one half to
the informer, and the other to the use of the county wherein
the same is recovered.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the owner or owners of the
said bridge, shall have authority, and they are hereby autho-
rised to prohibit by notice, affixed upon some conspicuous
part of said bridge, all persons from discharging any guns
muskets, or firearms whatever upon the said bridge, under a
penalty of five dollars for every such offence, to be recovered
before any justice of the peace of Anne Arundel county or
Baltimore county or city, and to be applied to the repair of the

road in connection with said bridge.
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That if at any time hereafter any
obstructions to the navigation of the river Patapsco should
arise from the erection of the bridge authorised to be built by,,
this act, so as to impede the free passage of such boats or ves-
sels as are or may be used on said river above said bridge,
or the navigation into the middle branch of the Patapsco as
it now is, the owner or owners of said bridge shall be liable to
indictment in the County Court of Anns Arundel or Balti-
more counties, for occasioning such obstructions : and upon
conviction thereof shall be adjudged by the court in which
such conviction takes place, to remove all such obstructions
at his or their own expense; and if such obstructions shall not
be removed agreeably to the judgment of said court, within
thirty days thereafter, then it shall be the duiy of said court,
upoo proof oi: neglect or refusal of the owner or owners of
said bridge to obey the judgment of said court within said
period, to impose upon said owner or owners such fine as they
may deem adequate to the removal of such obstructions, to be
collected with the costs of prosecution as other fines, and to be
applied under the direction of said court tor the removal oi"

five years, from the passage of this act, then, and in such case
all the privileges hereby granted shall cease.

all the arrears of the county tax for Baltimore county, levied,
from year to year by the justices of the Levy Court of Balti-
