CHAPTER 109.

An act fof changing part of the divisional line between Dor-
Chester and Caroline counties,

Preamble

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assembly, by
the petition of Nathan Corkran, of Dorchester county, that
he is possessed of a tract of land lying and being in Dorches-
ter and Caroline counties, through which the road forming
the divisional line of Dorchester and Caroline counties now
runs, to the injury of the said Nathan Corkran; And where-
as it appears that changing the said road will be beneficial to
the said Nathan Corkran, and promote the convenience of the
public. Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Jacob Charles, Mark Noble and James Brown be,
and they are hereby appointed commissioners, and they or a
majority of them, are hereby authorised to change and alter
so much of the public road which now divides the counties of
Dorchester and Caroline as passes through the land of the
said Nathan Corkran, in the most convenient manner, and in
such direction as shall best promote the convenience of the
public, as well as the convenience of the said Nathan Cork-
tan; and it shall be the duty of the said commissioners, or a
majority of them, to cause so much of the old road and divi-
sional line aforesaid, as may be necessary, to be laid down
by a surveyor, and also such alteration as they, or a majority
oi them, may make in said land, shewing in what manner the
alteration is made, and to return a plot thereof, with the sur-
veyor's certificate therton, to the levy courts of Dorchester
and Caroline counties; and if the levy courts aforesaid shall
approve of the alteration made and certified as aforesaid, the
same shall be recorded by the clerks of the respective county
courts of Dorchester and Caroline, and thenceforward, the said
new road shall be held and considered as a part of the public
Toad and divisional line between the said counties of Dorchester
and Caroline, and shall be kept in repair in the same manner
as the said public road and divisional line has been and is now
kept in repair.

N.Corkran to pay

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all the expense which shall
arcrue in making the alteration of the road as aforesaid, and
recording the same, shall be paid by the said Nathan Cork-
ran.

1828.
