EASTERN SHORE STATE HOSPITAL

A carbon copy of a letter of September 25, 1951, sent us by the
Secretary of the Board of Public Works was addressed to the Administrative
Assistant of the Eastern Shore State Hospital and suggested that a list of
the accounting records being considered for disposal be sent to the Hall
of Records. No further word has been heard in this matter.

INFORMATION, DEPARTMENT OF

On September 10, the Director of the Department requested that
routine requests for information that were answered simply by mailing out
the appropriate printed form or brochure be declared non-record material
by the Archivist (under the terms of Section 127B of Article 41). The
Archivist agreed that the material was of little value, but did not consider
that it fell within the scope of material intended to be included in the non-
record category by the law. It was suggested that these inquiries be placed
on a disposal schedule which would permit their destruction when they
have reached the age of three years.
