monies provided in the budget therefor will allow and shall con-

members of the Legislature, with their post office addresses, the
names and addresses of all State and county officers elected by
the people, as well as those appointed by the Governor and the
Board of Public Works, and such other information as in his
judgment is necessary.

73. The said Manual shall be distributed as follows: Twenty

members of the Legislature; one copy to each public or private
school or educational institution in the State of Maryland; fifty
copies bound in cloth to the Department of Legislative Refer'
ence, for exchange with other States; and the Secretary of State
is hereby authorised to make such further distribution as he deems
necessary or desirable.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1949.

Approved April 29, 1949.

CHAPTER 665

In my report on the last meeting of the Hall of Records Commission
I pointed out that the Division of Information had been separated from
the Hall of Records as the Commission wished. A bill was introduced,
therefore, providing for the creation of an agency known as the Depart-
ment of Information. Unfortunately, the Act as passed contained a refer-
ence to the Hall of Records which the Archivist did not succeed in having
removed. It is his hope that this part of the bill will be deleted at the next
session of the General Assembly.

CHAPTER 665
(House Bill 781)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 173 and 174 of Article 41 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Gover-
nor—Executive and Administrative Departments", subtitle
"Department of Information", and to enact in lieu thereof
two new sections, said sections to be known as Sections 173
