Among supplies abandoned by the Maryland Publicity Commission
were many pamphlets which could still be used to some extent by
school children. Included in these supplies were approximately 14,000
State road maps. Although the maps were of the 1940 edition, they
could be used in the schools, and had a particular advantage in that
they gave some idea of the Maryland scene in the illustrations on the
reverse side.
Other pamphlets left by the commission included: Maryland Ter-
centenary 1634-1934 (published by the Maryland Tercentenary Com-
mission) ; Camping and Fishing in the Mountains of Maryland; Mary-
land Historic Scenes and Famous Homes; Maryland "Haven for Horse
Lovers"; Visit Maryland This Year; Camping - Hunting - Fishing in
Maryland.
These abandoned supplies were sent largely to Maryland schools,
with a cautionary note that some of the texts were out-dated but that
the pictures might still be useful.

graphed for distribution.

formation centers coincided with that observed in departmental mail.

Publicity Commission, had been frequently requested by Maryland
