assess the results of this experiment, it will be continued for another
year. The projected directory of public officers has not progressed
beyond the preparation and mimeographing of the questionnaire. It
had been hoped that this work would get under way at the begin-
ning of the new fiscal year, but this project and some others will
have to be postponed until new members of the staff to replace the
experienced employees who have recently resigned are found and
trained.
