Sixth Annual Report of the Archivist of the Hall of Records, State
of Maryland, for the Fiscal Year October 1} 1940 to September 30,
1941.
Typewritten Indexes

Record of Marriages. Indexing of this record began last year.
It contains a report of marriages made to the Secretary of State by
the clerks of the various county courts for a short period during the
1860's. The number of cards ad$ed this year was 6,000, for a total of
8,000.

Testamentary Proceedings. Of the nineteen volumes of indexes
to be transcribed on cards, five remained to be done this year. Alpha-
betizing is proceeding and the entire index will be ready for use
shortly. The cards added this year number 16,000 for a total of 73,000.

Charles County Records. The Charles County Will Books also
contain the bulk of all other probate records for the County. Our
index is only to this series. Other Charles County Probate Records
remain unindexed. 8,000 cards.

Military Records. This index was continued to the period of about
1800. It is not expected that any additions will be made during the
coming year so that it may be considered complete for the time being.
33,000 cards.

Baltimore County Non-Jurors. 2,200 cards.

Provincial Court Judgments. New cards made, typed and filed
for the period 1703-1707. This work is continuing. 5,200 cards.

Executive Papers. This collection from 1777 to 1867 to be arranged
and partially indexed.
