"With the issue for June 18th, Allen withdrew.
And with the issue for August 2d, William C.
Smyth was admitted to partnership, under the firm
name of Edwards & Smyth, and the title was changed
to Maryland journal & Baltimore daily advertiser.
With the issue for September 8th, Smyth withdrew,
and Philip Edwards continued publication to Dec-
ember 4th, when a fire forced suspension." -Evans.
Publication was resumed on December 27.
