and use, a common seal, and the same to break, alter and re-
new at pleasure; and also to assemble and meet at such times
and places as they may agree upon, and to ordain, establish,
and put in execution, such by-laws, ordinances and regulations,
as to them shall seem conducive to the interest of said compa-
ny, and necessary to the good government and orderly manage-
ment thereof; and generally to do and execute all such acts,
matters and things, as to them shall or may appertain to do,
the same not being contrary to the laws of this state, or of the
United States.

CHAP. CII.
A Supplement to an act, entitled, An act for the valuation of Real and Per-
sonal Property in the several Counties of this Stale, passed November ses-
sion eighteen hundred and twelve, chapter one hundred and ninety-one,
so fur as relates to Dorchester County.

WHEREAS serious injury is often sustained by persons having
taxes to pay, by reason of the commissioners of the tax having
no specific mode of ascertaining the necessary and proper infor-
mation of the changes or transfers of real and personal property
made under and by virtue of last wills and testaments; There-
fore,

Preamble

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the first day of May next, and regularly in
each year thereafter, between the first and tenth days of May,
it shall be and is hereby made the duty of the register of wills
in said county, to make out and deliver to the commissioners of
the tax in said county, an alphabetical list or account of all the
alienations, changes or transfers, of real estate of every de-
scription, made under or by virtue of last wills and testaments,
in the same manner as the clerk of said county is now required
to make out and return a list of alienations by the eighth sec-
tion of the act to which this is a supplement; and the said list
or account, thus to be made out and delivered, shall contain, as
near as practicable, the name and quantity of such real estate,
as also the name of the devisor, and the name or names of the
devisee or devisees.

2. And be it enacted, That the said register of Wills shall
be entitled to ask and receive the same rate of fees for making
out and delivering such list of alienations, changes or transfers,
of real estate as aforesaid, as the clerk of said county is now
entitled to receive for similar services, which said fees shall be
levied, collected and paid over, in the same manner as the said
clerk's fees are now or may hereafter be.

An Act to provide for the payment of Jurors in Harford County.

Passed Feb., 221827

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Harford county be, and they are hereby
authorised and required, to levy on the assessable property of
said county, at the usual time of making the county levy, in the
year eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, such sum of money,
as the said levy court may deem sufficient, to defray the ex-
penses which have been or may be incurred by the attendance
