are respectively declared to be sole and unmarried, and the said
Mary Amanda shall henceforth take the name of Mary Aman-
da Sandford.

CHAP. XCIV.
An Act for the relief of Rachel Russell, of Prince George's County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland
That the levy court of Prince-George's county be and they are
hereby authorised and empowered, at their annual meeting, so
long as they shall see cause so to do, to levy upon the assessable
property of said county, a sum of money not exceeding thirty
dollars, for the use of Rachel Russell, which sum of money
shall be collected and made payable to the said Rachel Russell,
or her order.

CHAP. XCV.
An Act to make valid the Election of a Burgess and Commissioners of Em-
mittsburg, in Frederick County.

Election confirm-
ed

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the election held in the town of Emmittsburg, on the first
Monday of April last, for the election of a burgess and commis-
sioners for said town, be and the same is hereby confirmed and
made valid, to all intents and purposes.

2. And be it enacted, That the acts and proceedings of the
said burgess and commissioners be and they are hereby made
legal and valid in law, to all intents and purposes.

Seins of a certain
description not
lawful to be used

CHAP. XCVI.
An Act to protect the breed of Fish in Anne Arundel County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall not be law-
ful for any person or persons to use in the rivers or waters of
said county any seins or nets, the meshes of which shall be less
than one inch and a quarter square, except such seins or nets as
do not exceed ten fathoms in length.

2. And be it enacted, That if any person or persons, shall after
the passage of this act, use or haul in the rivers or waters of the
county aforesaid, any sein or net, exceeding the length aforesaid,
the meshes of which shall be less than one inch and a quarter
square, such person or persons so offending, shall forfeit and
pay, for each and every offence, the sum of twenty dollars, to
be recovered in the name of the state before any justice of the
peace, as other small debts are recovered, one half to the use of
the informer, and the other half to the use of the state, any act
to the contrary notwithstanding.

already knit

3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act contained
shall be construed to extend to, or affect those seins or nets al-
ready knit, and owned by persons residing in said county.

and improvement of the Village of Greensborough, in Caroline County.
