dence had the same been produced.
3. And be it enacted. That all the right and title which John
C. Brown acquired, by virtue of his marriage with Elizabeth
M. Brown, to any property which she may become entitled to
In any way or manner whatever, be and the same is hereby an-
nulled and made void; and that the said Elizabeth M. Brown
be and she is hereby declared capable to have, hold, take, re-
ceive, sue for and recover, by compromise, suit or suits in law
or equity, all such property, in as full and ample a manner
as if she were a feme sole, and had never been married, and to
hold, use and enjoy the same, for her use and benefit, and the
same to dispose of according to her will and pleasure, without
the molestation, interference, hindrance or consent of her hus-
band, in the same manner as she could or might have done were

CHAP. XLV.
A Supplement to the act to provide for the preservation of the Records be-

longing to the Office of the Clerk of Somerset County.

Passed Jan 30,1827

WHEREAS the counties of Somerset and Worcester were for-
merly one county, and a considerable portion of the records au-
thorised to be transcribed and rebound by the act to which this
Is a supplement, are those of the said counties, before the divisi-
on thereof, and it is reasonable that Worcester county should
bear a proportion of the expenses incurred under said act;
Therefore,

 

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Ara Spence, Lemuel Spence and John C. Handy, Es-
quires, of Worcester county, be and they are hereby appointed
commissioners, to ascertain what part of the expense incurred
under the said act, should be paid by Worcester county; and
the levy court of Worcester are hereby authorised and di-
rected to levy such sum of money as the said commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall so ascertain; which sum of money
shall be for the use of the clerk of Somerset county, and be to
him paid, when collected by the collector of Worcester county,
in part satisfaction for the services which, by the said act, he is
directed to perform.

CHAP. XLVI.
An Act for the relief of Elizabeth Saturfield, of Caroline County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the levy court of
Caroline county are hereby authorised, empowered and direct-
ed, to levy on the assessable property of said county annually, a
sum of money not exceeding thirty, nor less than twenty dol-
lars, for the support and maintenance of Elizabeth Saturfield of
said county, during her natural life, which sum, when so levied
and collected, shall be paid over by the collector of said county,
to the said Elizabeth Saturfield, or her order.
