CHAP. CXCI.
An Act for the benefit of James Wolfenden and Joseph Jameson, of Balti-

more county.

Passed Mar 9, 1827

WHEREAS the said James Wolfenden, in or about the year
eighteen hundred and fifteen, purchased of a certain Robert Big-
ham, since deceased, four acres of land in Baltimore county,
supposed to be contained in a tract of land called Lewis' Pur-
chase, and for which he paid the sum of fpur hundred dollars:
And whereas the said Wolfenden has since built upon a part of
said four acres a small dwelling-house and stable: And whereas
a certain Joseph Jameson, of the city of Baltimore, being the
owner of another part of the said tract called Lewis' Purchase,
heretofore, to wit, on the third day of February, eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-six, obtained- a special warrant of resurvey up-
on said tract: And whereas it appears by the certificate of the
•surveyor of Baltimore county, by whom said warrant of resur-
vey was executed, elated the second of February eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-seven, that that part of said four acres, pur-
chased as aforesaid by the said James Wolfenden, upon which
the improvements aforesaid have been by him erected, is not in
fact a part of the said tract called Lewis' Purchase, but vacant
land adjoining said tract, and as such has been laid out for said
Joseph Jameson, under the said special warrant of resurvey, and
the said improvements thereon have been valued in the said cer-
tificate of resurvey at one hundred and fifty dollars: And where-
as it appears that the said Jameson is willing if released from
the payment of the said estimated value of said improvements,
to secure the title thereto, and of the land upon which the same
stands, to the said James Wolfenden : And whereas it appears to
the satisfaction of the legislature, that the said improvements
were built by said Wolfenden in entire ignorance that the same
were not upon the said tract called Lewis' Purchase, Therefore,
