CHAP. XX
An Act for the Revaluation of the Real and Personal Property in Cecil
County.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Cecil County, be and they
are hereby authorised and empowered, to meet at the county
town, as soon as may be practicable after the passage of this act,
and there proceed to revalue and re-assess the real and personal
property within said county, agreeable to the provisions of an
act passed at November session, eighteen hundred and twelve,
entitled, An act for the valuation of real and personal property
in. the several counties of this state.

2. And be it enacted, That the following persons shall be,
and they are hereby appointed commissioners of the tax for Ce-
cil county: John Jordan, Robert Evans, John C. Cazier, David-
son D. Pearce and Alfred C. Nowland, or a majority of them,
who are hereby authorised and empowered, to carry into full
effect and operation fill the provisions of this act, as well as the
aforesaid act of eighteen hundred and twelve, entitled, An act
for the valuation of real 2nd personal property in the several
counties of this state,

CHAP. XXI.
An Act for the relief of Negro Esther, and others, her descendants.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for the clerk of Montgomery county
court to record, and he is hereby required to record, the certifi-
cate of John Gill, bearing elate the eleventh of October in the
year one thousand eight hundred and nineteen, with tide accom-
panying affidavit, and the certificate of Arnold Boone, bearing
date the fifteenth day of December eighteen hundred and twen-
ty-six, and the Certificate of Elizabeth Hughes, bearing date
the eighteenth of December eighteen hundred and twenty-six;
and the said certificates, when so recorded, shall have the same
operation and effect to secure freedom to the said Esther and
her child Nancy, and such of the descendants of said negro Es-
ther as have been born since the year seventeen hundred and
eighty-five, which a deed of manumission executed by the said
John Gill, attested, acknowledged and recorded, according to
law, would or could have had.

2. And be it enacted. That nothing in this act contained
shall affect any right that may have accrued to any person or per-
sons in or to the said negro Esther, or her, descendants, or any
of theirs

CHAP. XXII.
An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Washington county to levy a sum of
money, to be applied towards the erection of a Bridge over the Conoco-
cheague Creek, on the road leading from Hagerstown to Mercersburgh.

Levy authorised.

1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the levy court of Washington county be and they are
hereby authorised, to levy on the assessable property of said
county, such sum of money as, in addition to the amount which,
may be raised by individual subscription, shall be Required to
