Ch. 52 LAWS OF MARYLAND

Section 38-6 B., 38-7, and 38-9

Article 19 - Public Local Laws of Maryland

(1978 Edition and March, 1989 Supplement, as amended)

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:

Article 19 - St. Mary's County

38-6.

[A. Application.

(1) Before any person shall hereafter engage in the business of a master
electrician in St. Mary's County, as defined in this chapter, and before any person now
engaged in the business or any class of it shall continue in the business of master
electrician, such person shall apply to the Board for a license, as herein required,
whereupon the applicant shall present himself before the Board at a time and place
fixed by the Board.

(2) Each applicant shall pay an application fee of $25, which shall entitle
the applicant to 3 examinations; each examination must be not more than 6 months
apart.]

A. LICENSE REQUIRED.

(1) EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED IN THIS CHAPTER, A
PERSON SHALL BE LICENSED BY THE BOARD OF ELECTRICAL
EXAMINERS BEFORE THE PERSON MAY ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF A
MASTER ELECTRICIAN.

(2) AN APPLICANT MAY OBTAIN A LICENSE FROM THE BOARD
IF THE APPLICANT:

(I) PASSES AN EXAMINATION GIVEN BY THE BOARD; OR

(II) UNDER THE MARYLAND MASTER ELECTRICIANS ACT:

1. HOLDS A STATE LICENSE; OR

2. QUALIFIES FOR A RECIPROCAL LICENSE.
B. Examinations.

(1) Examination for licenses shall be held at times and places within the
county to be determined by the Board.

(2) Examinations shall be held at least [4 times annually] 2 TIMES EACH
YEAR.

(3) [Applications shall be filed before the first Tuesday of the month the
examination is to be held.
