Wootten, Jones, of Prince George's, Legg, Starkey, Jacobs,
. Landing, Dennis, of Worcester, Kessler, Claggett, Routzhan,
Johnson, Salmon, Straughn, Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune,
Winans Pitts, Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit,
Scott, Wilson, of Harford, Bayless, McCoy, Eakle, Brining,
Stake, Griffith, Gordon Barnard, McCleary, Roop, Gorsuch,
Mills, Turner, Brown,

The following communication was received from his Ex-
cellency the Governor, by the hands of his Private Secretary;
which was read;

[See Document A.]

Mr. Chaplain offered the following ;

Ordered, That ———— copies of the Governor's message,
with accompanying documents, be printed for the use of the
members of the House of Delegates.

Mr. Goldsborough proposed the following as a substitute ;

Ordered, That five thousand copies of the message of the
Executive, with the accompanying papers, be printed for the
use of the House.

Which was adopted.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following :

A bill entitled, An Act to amend the 19th section, relating
to Banks, of Article XII of the Code of Public General Laws,
which was read the first time and referred to a special com-
mittee of three.

Mr. Compton moved a reconsideration of the vote by which
the order of Mr. Goldsborough was adopted ; which was
lost.

Mr. Scott proposed the following :

Ordered, By the House of Delegates of Maryland, that a
special committee, to consist of five persons, be appointed by
the Speaker, to prepare and report an Act to provide for the
call of a Sovereign Convention of the people of Maryland, to
take into consideration the present condition of the State, and
do what may be necessary for the honor and safety of the
State of Maryland ;

Which was adopted, and Messrs. Scott, Dennis, of Some-

rset, Long, Goldsborough, and Gordon, constituted said Com-
mittee.
