Said resolution was then sent to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Gordon,
Leave was granted to the Judiciary Committee to intro-
duce a bill entitled, and act to provide for the qualification
and installation as Comptroller of Treasury of A. Lingan
Jarret, Esq.., who was declared by the House Delegates, on
the 10th day of March, 1860, duly elected to said office, and
to repeal the 6th and 7th sections of Article of XXIInd of
the code of Public General Laws.
Mr. Wallis offered the following :
Ordered, That his Excellency, the Governor, be and he is
hereby again respectfully requested to furnish to this House,
with as little delay as possible, a copy of his letter, to which
the letter of the Secretary of War, bearing date April 17th,
1861, which he has already communicated to this House is a
reply ; together with copies of all other correspondence which
may have taken place between himself and any officer or offi-
cers of the Federal Government since the 4th of March last;
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Long, the House adjourned until to-mor-
row morning at 10 o'clock.
