The proceedings of yesterday were read.
Mr. Maxwell offered the following :
Ordered, That the committee on Claims be directed to pay
Francis T. Rhodes for services rendered, and to be rendered,
as keeper of'the hall of the House of Delegates.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Goldsborough offered the following :
Ordered, That the door-keepers, after to-day, keep the hall
of the House of Delegate's open from 9 o'clock, morning, to
9 o'clock, night.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Long, chairman of the committee on Ways and Means,
made the fallowing report :
The committee on Ways ahd Means, to whom was referred
the propriety of reporting a bill for the re-assessment of the
real and personal property of this State, beg leave respect-
fully to report, that they deem it inexpedient to report such
a bill; they, therefore, beg leave to be discharged from the
consideration of the subject. All of which is respectfully
submitted.
On motion of Mr. Long,
The report was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Pitts,
Leave was granted a special committee, to report a bill en-
titled, an act to relieve the Mayor and members of the Board
of Police of the city of Baltimore, and all who acted under
their orders, in their efforts to maintain peace and good order,
and prevent further strife on and after the occurrences of the
19th day of April, 1861, in said city, from prosecution for
acts done by the said Mayor and Board of Police, or under
their orders;
And Messrs. Pitts, Wilson and Denison constituted said
committee.
