Also, the bill entitled, an act; to authorize the Council of
the Mount Zion church, in Washington county, to dispose of
certain real estite;

Severally endorsed, "passed by yeas aD.d nays."
On motion of Mr. McCleary,

It was ordered, That when the House adjourns to-day, it
adjourn to meet at 12 o'clock, M., on Monday.

On motion of Mr. Miller,
The House adjourned.

MONDAY, August 5, 1861.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Crever.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Rasin, Medders, Welch,
Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Ford, Denison,
Quiulan, Renshaw, Jones, of Talbot, Lawson, Linthicum,
Kefene, Holland, Maxwell, Miller, Wootton, Jones, of P. G.,
Legg, Landing, Kessler, Johnson, Goldsborough, War-

field, Pitts, Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Mor-
fit, Scott,Wilson, Bayless, McCoy, Brining, Fiery, Gordon,
Roop, Mills.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Ford presented the petition of James Hungerford,
Amos A. Harryman, and one hundred and thirty-five other
citizens of Reisterstown, and its vicinity in Baltimore county,
praying the passage of a bill, to prevent wagon travel and
droving on the Sabbath day in this State;

Which was read and referred to the committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Kessler presented the petition of Upton Worthington,
and other citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage
of a law for the further protection of slave property;
