ter county, relating to the division of election districts in said
county, and apportioning the number of the Justices of the
Peace and Constables in said election district;

Which was read the first time.
Mr. Warfield offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims pay to the mem-
bers of the committee and the clerk thereof, appointed to ex-
amine the claims of Messrs. Murdoch and Duvall against the
State and to enquire into the condition of the Maryland
Penitentiary, the per diem and mileage due them for said
service;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Brown,
The rules were suspended, and

Leave was granted to the committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill for the benefit of the Presbyterian Church,
at Ellicott's Mills.

Mr. Legg, from a select committee, made a favorable re-
port upon the bill entitled, an act to amend section 75 of ar-
ticle 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of this State, re-
lating to the compensation of the clerk of the County Com-
missioners of Queen Anne's county;

Which was read the first, and by special order the second
and third time and rejected by yeas and nays, as follow:
