Which were read.

Mr. Chaplain offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee appointed by the House on
the 18th of June, to whom was referred certain petitions
from citizens of Queen Anne's and Talbot counties relating
to the seizure of the arms of the State by the Federal troops,
have power to send for persons and papers and examine wit-
nesses under oath;

Which was not adopted.

On motion of Mr. Denison,

It was ordered, That Mr. Legg be constituted a member of
the committee referred to in the above order.

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

The vote by which the order of Mr. Chaplain was lost,
Was reconsidered.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the order,
The yeas and nays were ordered, and appeared as follow:
