"and that three committee clerks "be appointed by the Speaker
for the general use of the committees of the House;"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Jacobs proposed the following amendment:

Strike out the words "that this House shall elect one fol-
der," and insert "the Speaker shall appoint one folder;"

Which was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended,
it was adopted.

Mr. Wallis offered the following:

Ordered by the House of Delegates, That the committee
on Claims, be and they are hereby directed to close the jour-
nal of accounts to Tuesday next, inclusive, and to issue no
certificates of pay or mileage until Tuesday morning next to
members of the House.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Kessler offered the following:

Ordered, That the ministers of the Gospel who opened the
'daily sessions with prayer, be allowed the same sums payed
them at the May term, and that the committee on Claims
pay the same;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Mackubin offered the following:

Ordered, That the committee on Claims be, and they are
hereby directed to pay to such of the members and officers of
the House of Delegates, who were detained after the adjourn-
ment of the May session, and who may be detained after the
close of the present session on official business, mileage and
the usual per diem for such time as they were or may be de-
tained.

Which was adopted by yeas and nays, as follow:
