Mr. Chaplain, from the committee on the Judiciary re-
ported favorably upon

The bill entitled, a supplement to an act entitled, an act
to authorize the Comptroller to adjust and settle the accounts
of the inspectors of Grain, in the city of Baltimore, passed
at December session, 1860, chapter 282, declaratory of the
meaning of said act, with the proposed amendment:

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Comptroller be, and he is hereby authorized and
directed to adjust and settle the accounts of the said Inspector
General and other Inspectors of Grain under the several acts
of Assembly in that case provided commencing with the year
1860, so as to pay the said Inspector General a sum not
exceeding fifteen hundred dollars, and to each of the other
inspectors, a sum not exceeding twelve hundred dollars, if
the whole amount paid into the Treasury by said inspectors
shall be sufficient to pay said sum.

Pending the consideration of which,
On motion of Mr. Burgess,

The bill was ordered to be printed, and made the order
of the day for to-morrow at 11 o'clock.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the day,
the House resumed the consideration of the unfinished busi-
ness of yesterday, being the report and resolutions of the
ommittee on Federal Relations, relative to the message of the
Governor,
