Mr. Compton, chairman of the committee on Military Af-
fairs, made the following report:

Which was read and adopted.
Mr. Maxwell offered the following:

WHEREAS, the General Assembly of Maryland did by an
act thereof passed March 10th, 1854, enter into certain ar-
rangements with the Northern Central Railroad company by
which said Railroad company received certain valuable con-
sideration for certain stipulations to be performed on its part;
and as it does not appear to the satisfaction of this House,
that such stipulations have been complied with on the part of
said Railroad company; Therefore, be it

Ordered, That the Comptroller of this State be directed to
enquire into and report to this house at his earliest conveni-
ence, whether the said Northern Central Railroad company
has complied with all its obligations to the State, under
the above mentioned act, and all other acts of the Assembly
of Maryland, and if has not so complied, then with what ob-
ligations they have failed to comply;

Which was adopted.
