Mr. Goldsborough made the following report:
The committee of Ways and Means, to whom was referred
the petition of C. H. Wood, asking "respectfully to propose
to set before the Legislature the everlasting gospel and that
faith once delivered to the saints, naming chapter, verse," etc.,
respectfully report the said petition back to the House, be-
lieving that the subject matter of the petition, does not pro-
perly belong to the duties of the committee.

The whole subject was laid upon the table.
On motion of Mr. Mackubin,
Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel county delegation
to bring in a bill empowering the Judge of the Circuit court
for Anne Arundel county, in his discretion, to suppress licen-
ces for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors or lager-
beer in quantities less than a pint, within the city of An-
napolis, suspending certain sections of article LVI of the
Code of Public General Laws therein named, so far as the
same effect the city of Annapolis.
On motion of Mr. Gordon,
The rules were suspended and the House took up for con-
sideration the report of the committee on Federal Relations
upon the messages of the Governor, in regard to the arbitrary
proceedings of the United States authorities and the Gover-
nor's correspondence with the United States Government,
with the order and resolutions therewith.
The question recurring upon the order;
That a committee of three be appointed by the Speak-
er, with instructions to examine the Executive Record
and call for such persons and papers as they may deem
proper, to enable them to ascertain and report to this House,
without delay, the precise character of the relations estab-
lished by the Executive of this State with the Federal Govern-
ment since the commencement of our existing national
troubles.
