On motion of Mr. Scott,

Leave was granted to a select committee to report a bill
entitled, a supplement to an act entitled an act to incorpo-
rate the Baltimore, Catonsville and Ellicott's Mills passen-
ger railway company.

The Speaker appointed Messrs. Scott, Denison and Tur-

ner as said committee.

Mr. Brining presented the petition of W. Motter and other
officers and collectors of Washington county, asking the
passage of a law authorizing the payments into the State
Treasury to be made in current funds;

Which was read and referred to the committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Kessler, from the select committee, reported a bill en-
titled, an act to divide the western poll of district No. 2, in
Frederick county into two polls;

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Gordon,

The consideration of the order of the day was postponed
until Monday next, at 12 o'clock, M.

Mr. Gordon, from the Judiciary committee, reported the
Senate bill entitled, a bill adding a new section to the Code
of Public Local Laws relating to the judges of the Orphans
court for Montgomery county, with the following proposed
amendments:

After the words "a bill" in the title, insert the words
"entitled an act;"

Also, add at the end of section 101 the words "Provided
this act shall not apply to the present judges of said court."

On motion of Mr. Quinlan,

The House adjourned until Monday morning next at 10
o'clock.
