Mr. Long, chairman oi the Committee on Ways and Means,
made the following
REPORT:
The committee on Ways ;and Meaas, to whom was referred
the memoral of George E. Sangston, clerk of the Superior
court of Baltimore city, praying that an act may be passed
to permit him to draw on the treasurer of the State from time
time for such amount as may be neeled to meet the deficiency
in the current office expenses, beg leave respectfully to report
that it is deemed inexpedient to grant the prayer of the
memorialist. They therefore beg to be discharged from the
further consideration of the subject. All of which is respect-
fully submitted.

Which was read.
Mr. Goldsborough, from a minority of the same committee,
submitted the following report and accompanying bill, en-
titled, an act to amend the XVIIIth article of the Code of
General Laws, by adding thereto the following sections in re-
lation to the compensation of the clerks of the several Circuit
courts of this State and the clerks of the Superior court and
the court of Common Pleas for Baltimore city;
To the Speaker of the House of Delegates:
We the undersigned, respectfully dissent from the report
presented by a majority of the committee on Ways and Means,
and respectfully uecommend the passage of the accompanying
