SATURDAY, June 8, 1861

The Hou«e met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Diehl.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Kilbourn, Speaker, Durant, Morgan, Rasin, Mecl-
ders, Welch, Mackubin, Briscoe, Parran, Compton, Burgess,
Ford, Worthington, Denison, Quinlan, Renshaw, Jones, of
Talbot, Chaplain, Dennis, of Somerset, Long, Stanford,
Lawson, Keene, Holland, McIntire, Maxwell, Miller, Bryan,
Wootten, Legg, Starkey, Landing, Dennis, of Worcester,
Kessler, Claggett, Routzahn, Johnson, Salmon, Naill,
Straughn, Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune, Winans, Pitts,
Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit, Scott, Wilson,
Bayless, McCoy, Eakle, Brining, Fiery, Griffith, Gordon,
Barnard, McCleary, Roop, Gorsuch, Mills, Turner, Brown.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.
On motion of Mr. Salmon,

Leave was granted to the Frederick county delegation to
report a bill for a division of the Western Poll .of District
No. 2 in Frederick county, into two polls.

On motion of Mr. Brining,

Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation
to introduce A bill to exempt Washington county from the
potato law, passed January session 1860.

On motion of Mr. Straughn,

Leave was granted to the committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay John H. Emerson, editor of the American
Union, for printing done by order of the Goveraor for the
State;

Also, to A. G. Gullett, for like printing..

Also, to introduce a bill to refund to William Lockermon
And William Roe, late Collectors of State taxes, by them
overpaid into the treasury of Maryland,

On motion of Mr. Maxwell,
Leave was granted to the committee on Claims to pay Geo.
