The Speaker presented the petition of J. G. Poole and
others, citizens of Carroll county, asking an adjournment of
the Legislature sine die.

Mr. Chaplain moved to lay the petition upon the table-

On motion of Mr. Ford,

The petition was referred to a joint committee of both
Houses on adjournment, hereafter to be appointed.

Mr. Kessler offered the following order:

Ordered, that Mr. M. Y. Kidd, Chief Clerk of this House,
being detained by sickness from performing his duties, that
Thos. H. Moore be appointed Chief Clerk until he shall be
able to resume his position.

Which was read and adopted.
