Which was read and referred to the Committee on Federal
Relations.

On motion of Mr. Miller,
The House at 2 o'clock adjourned.

SATURDAY, May 11, 1861.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Dr. Zacharias.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members :
Messrs. Kilbourn, Sp'r., Morgan, Rasin, Medders, Welch,
Compton, Ford, Worthington, Denison, Quinlan, Renshaw,
Jones, of Talbot, Chaplain, Lawson, Keene, Holland, Maxwell, Miller, Bryan, Jones, of Prince George's, Legg, Star-
key, Landing, Kessler, Claggett, Routzahn. Johnson, Salmon, Naill, Straughn, Goldsborough, Warfield, Brune, Wi-
nans, Pitts, Harrison, Thomas, Wallis, Sangston, Morfit,
Scott, Wilson, of Harford, Bayless, McCoy, Eakle, Brining,
Fiery, Stake, Griffith, Harding, Gordon, Barnard, McCleary,
Gorsuch, Mills, Turner and Brown.

The proceedings of yesterday were read.

Mr. Kessler proposed the following :

Ordered, that Messrs. Salmon, Claggett and Johnson, be
appointed a committee to contract for halls and make other
necessary arrangements for the June term of the General As-
sembly, and report the same to this House, on the 4th day of
June next, for their adoption or rejection ;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Fiery proposed the following :

Resolved, By the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Delegates lately elected from Baltimore city, and now mem-
bers of this body, were elected in plain violation of the 29th
Section of the Constitution and the 49th Section of the Code
of Public Laws, and are therefore not legally entitled to seats
upon this floor;

Which, was read the first time.
