Committee on Judiciary.—Messrs. Gordon, Pitts, Scott,
Chaplain, Dennis, of Somerset, Briscoe, Miller.

Committee on Currency.—Messrs. Harrison, Durant, Bur-
gess, Denison, Keene, Medders, Thomas.

Committee on Military Affairs.—Messrs. Compton, Brune,
Mills, McCleary, Worthington, Lawson, Eakle.
On motion of Mr. Dennis, of Somerset,

Leave was granted to report a bill, to ratify by the Legis-
lature of this State, an amendment, proposed by Congress, to
the constitution of the United States, at the last session
thereof. ^

On motion of Mr. McCleary,

Leave was granted the committee orr the Judiciary to re-
port a bill for the relief of debtors.

Mr. Maxwell presented the following petition :
To the House of Delegates of Maryland :

The undersigned, one of "the delegates from the county of
Cecil, respectively represents that one of his colleagues, to-
wit : Alexander Wilson, late a member of this honorable
body, has removed his place of abode to the county of Kent,
in this State, and permanently resides therein. He, there-
fore, prays that the Speaker of the House of Delegates shall
be directed to issue his warrant of election for the election of
another person in the stead of the said Alexander Wilson.

And, as in duty bound, &c.

JAMES W. MAXWELL.

Which was read and referred to the committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Salmon offered the following order:

Ordered, That it be entered on the journal that D. W.
Naill is detained from his seat by indisposition.

Which was adopted.

The following communication, with accompanying papers,
was received from the Executive, by the hands of his Private
Secretary, which were read.

Mr. Briscoe moved its reference to the committee on
Claims.
