1861.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES US

A bill entitled, an act making an appropriation for the
Maryland Penitentiary ;

Also, the bill entitled, an act to authorise John R. Miller,
Chief Bailiff of the town of Rockville, to collect the taxes im-
posed by the Commissioners of said town ;

Severally endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

Mr. Kessler, from the committee on Claims, made a favor-
ble report upon the bill entitled, an act to pay Allen G.
Quynn, a sum of money for articles furnished troops protect-
ing Frederick Barracks, under order of the Governor.

Which was read the first, and by special order the second
and third time, and passed by yeas and nays, as follow :

Said bill was then sent to the Senate.

Mr. Kessler, from the Frederick delegation, reported fa-
voably upon the Senate bill entitled, an act to authorise the
County Commissioners for Frederick county to build a new
Court House for Frederick county, to borrow money on the
credit of the county, to issue bonds for the payment of the
same, and to levy taxes on the assessable property of the
county, to redeem said bonds at maturity, and to pay the in-
terest thereon;

With proposed amendments.
