11th district of Baltimore county, in opposition to the so-
called Safety Bill.

Also, the petition of sundry citizens against the passage of
the Public Safety Bill.

Which were referred to the Joint Special Committee of the
House and Senate.

Mr. Jones, of Talbot, presented the petition of Alexander
Harrison and others, of Talbot county, with reference to
Lewis Tarr and Nicholas Plummer, gunning iti sink-boats on
the waters of Miles' River;

Which was referred to the Talbot delegation.

Mr. Kessler offered the following :

Ordered, That the committee on claims be instructed to pay
the Police Officers of this House three dollars each, per day

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Landing,

The House took up for consideration, the resolution au-
thorizing the Adjutant General to furnish the Newtown Atlan-
tic Volunteers with rifles or muskets.

Which was read the second and third time and passed by
yeas and nays, as follow :
