Was read the second time, and,

On motion of Mr. McKaig,
Was referred to the Committee on Finance.

Mr. Franklin, from Committee on Finance, reported a bill,
entitled,

An act appropriating one hundred dollars in payment of the
salary due Thomas A. Mitchell, Sergeant-at-Arrns of the Senate,
on the 1st day ,of January, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, as
keeper of the Senate Chamber and Committee Rooms in the
recess of the Legislature.

Which was read the first time.

On motion of Mr. Franklin,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring,
Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed,

On motion of Mr. Franklin,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring,

Was read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as
follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Blackistone, McKaig,

Bradley, Nuttle,

Dashiell, Smith,

Franklin, Stone,

Gardiner, Townsend,

Goldsborough, of Talbot; Watkins,

NEGATIVE—NONE.

Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.

Mr. McKaig, from the Committee on Judicial Proceedings, to
whom was reterred a bill, entitled,

An act to amend the eighty-third article of the Code of Public
General Laws, by exempting a certain amount of property from
execution, reported favorably on said bill.

Which was read the second time.
