TUESDAY, May 7th, 1861.

On motion of Mr. McKaig,

The Journal of the Secret Session was ordered to be printed,
together with two hundred extra copies for the use of the
Senate.

Mr. Kimmel presented a memorial, by Telegraphic Despatch,
of John J. Torme, John Semett, D. S. Gwine, David Hays,
Jacob Butcherhart, John R. Bond, E. R. Reynolds, John
Crumpton, J. S. Parker, Richard Thomas, Elijah Reynolds,
Edward F. Farming, John W. Taylor, Andrew Kidd, A. C.
Gerry, Andrew Orr, C. Baker, and forty-two others, citizens of
Cecil county, Maryland, protesting in the name of humanity and
for the sake of the people, that they will not submit to the ap-
pointment of the proposed committee of "Public Safety."

Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Federal
Relations.

Mr. Stone presented the following petitions:

Petition of one hundred and twenty-seven citizens of Rhors-
ville District, protesting against Secret Sessions, and establishing
Committees of Safety.

Petition of three hundred and thirty-five citizens of District
No. 6, Washington county, against Secret Sessions, and estab-
lishing Committees of Safety.

Petition of three hundred and forty-two citizens of Washington
county, in District No. 1, protesting against Secret Sessions and
establishing Committees of Safety.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on
Federal Relations.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, presented the following peti-
tion :

Petition of two hundred and seventy-five citizens of Talbot
county against the establishment of a Committee of Safety.

Which was read and referred to the Commiltee on Federal
Relations,

Mr. Franklin presented the proceedings of a public meeting
at Annapolis, against the passage of a bill establishing a "Board
of Safety."
