On motion,

Mr. Bradley was excused from serving on the Committee on
Militia.

Mr. Goldsborough, of Talbot, from the Committee on Finance,
reported the following:

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money for the
payment of the claims of Thos. J. Brice, executor of Ann Brice,
Owen M. Taylor, Caleb Stewart, Thomas Gardiner and John M.
Thompson;

Which was read the second time.

On motion of Mr. Franklin,
Three-fourths of all the Senators concurring,

Said bill was read the third time, and passed by yeas and
nays as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; Heckart,

Blackistone, McKaig,

Bradley, Miles,

Duvall, Stone,

Dashiell, Townsend,

Franklin, Watkins,

Goldsborough, of Talbot;

A bill, entitled, An act refunding to Samuel T. Hopkins and
John Donnovan, certain taxes erroneously paid by them into the
Treasury;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Duvall, from a select committee, reported the following :

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal section 9, of Article 66, of the
Code of Public General Laws, and to add in lieu thereof the fol-
lowing sections————;
