Mr. Kimmel offered as an

AMENDMENT:

Five hundred copies.

The question was then taken on the amendment, and deter-
mined in the negative.

The question then recurred on the order.

The yeas and nays being demanded, appeared as follows:

AFFIRMATIVE.

Messrs. Heckart, Stone,

Kimmel, Watkins,

Miles, Whitaker 6.

NEGATIVE.

Messrs. Brooke, President; Gardiner,

Blackistone, Goldsborough, of Talbot;

Bradley, Lynch,

Duvall, McKaig,

Franklin, Smith,

Grahame, Townsend—12.

So the Senate rejected the order.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following:

A bill, entitled, An act to make valid and to carry into effect
the bequest contained in the last will and testament of George
Kerr, late of Baltimore county, deceased, in favor of the Trustees
of the First Presbyterian Church, of Ellicott's Mills, in Howard
county;

Which was read the first time, and referred to a select com-
mittee, consisting of Messrs. Watkins. Smith and Lynch.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates returned the following:

A bill, entitled, An act appropriating a sum of money therein
named, to pay Charles S. Middleton, Clerk of the Circuit Court
for Prince George's county, for fees in certain State cases;

Endorsed "passed by yeas and nays."

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the following
bills :

A bill, entitled, An act to provide for the payment of a sum of
money to Capt. Gabriel Becklie, of the United Guards of Fred-
erick county, for services rendered under order of the Governor;
